The Manchester Local School District has once again been presented the Auditor of State Award.

MLSD Treasurer, Karen Ballengee said, “It takes a lot of work to make sure all the ‘t’s’ are crossed and ‘i’s’ are dotted, so we are thrilled to have our work recognized.”

The Auditor of State Award is presented to local governments and school districts after the completion of a financial audit. School districts and local governments that receive the award must meet the criteria of a “clean” audit report.

In addition to producing a clean audit, the award criteria also requires the timely filing of financial reports with the Auditor of State’s office in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.

According to the district’s school board President, Rick Foster, “MLSD is quite proud to receive this award for the fourth year in a row. This is a testament to the hard work and diligence of our Treasurer Karen Ballengee. She, as well as all of our administration and staff is quite cognizant in attention to detail of our obligation to the district’s taxpayers. This award is an indication that MLSD is truly blessed with Karen’s compassion and ownership for our district.”

The audit report does not contain any findings for recovery, material citations, material weaknesses, significant deficiencies, single audit findings or questioned costs.
