Adams County TVB wins two state awards for Marketing

The Adams County Travel and Visitors Bureau took home two awards for marketing at the Ohio Travel Association (OTA) Ohio Conference on Tourism held Nov. 16-18 in Columbus.

A Certificate of Achievement was presented to the Travel and Visitors Bureau for “outstanding marketing efforts” for the bureau’s mobile site m.adamscountytravel.org. The mobile site is a scaled down version for mobile devices of the travel bureau’s website www.adamscountytravel.org. More and more visitors are turning to their mobile devices for travel information and visitation to the Adams County Travel Bureau’s mobile site has exceeded 20% growth in a year.

“I’m real pleased as to how well our mobile site has been utilized by visitors,” said Tom Cross, Executive Director of the Adams County Travel and Visitors Bureau. “The growth witnessed by our mobile site was not unexpected as mobile devices have become the way to get information by the traveling public.”

The Adams County Travel and Visitors Bureau was also awarded a Citation of Excellence Award, presented by Ohio Magazine for the WCPO television ad promoting Adams County. The Bureau, along with help from The Adams County Commissioners, The Nature Conservancy, and WCPO TV, put together an eco-tourism ad which ran on the Cincinnati ABC affiliate Channel 9, from June through August of this year.

“The television ad the Travel Bureau did with Channel 9 not only generated interest in Adams County from the Cincinnati area market, but it also generated pride locally to see the best of Adams County showcased over network TV,” said Cross.
