WUHS Chamber Choir performs for Women’s Club

The West Union High School Women’s Chamber Choir performed a special concert for the Adams County Women’s Club on Thursday, Oct. 15. The Chamber Choir is a group of select choir students at WUHS who are hand selected, after auditions, to perform at special events and to compete with other high schools.

The ladies performed songs that are inspirational to women and have become classics over the years. The songs performed were: “Sisters,” “Sh-Boom,” and “Save the Last Dance for Me.” Sarah White and Julia Tackett performed a duet and serenaded the crowd with “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.” The members of the women’s club were very appreciative of the private performance and offered a donation to benefit the choir.

The students of the Women’s Chamber Choir include: Athena Chamblin, Kira Gifford, Taylor Grooms, Madison Welch, Christa Williams, Shruti Nayak, Julia Tackett, Rayanna McFarland , Brooklyn Howlett, MacKenzie Smith, Hannah Hill, and Hunter Jones. The ladies were accompanied by Skyler Johnson and Dakota Nehus, two gentlemen students who played the guitar, and their choir teacher, Mr. Neil DeAtley.
