Junior Fair Board elects officers

The Adams County Junior Fair Board held its annual meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 7 at the Ohio Valley Career and Technical Center. The members elected two at large members, Jaycee Baldwin and Alexandria Clark, both of West Union, and both members of 4-H and FFA, and appointed five additional youth to fill vacant positions for the balance of the 2016 term. Appointees include Lindsay Daniel, Wesley Hayslip, Lucy Kersey, and Alizabeth Snider, all of West Union, and Taylor Mason of Manchester. All are active members of their respective FFA chapters, and Daniel, Kersey, and Snider are also actively involved in 4-H.

The Board also elected their officers for the 2016 program year. Newly elected officers include Jace Howard, Manchester – President; Madison Siders, North Adams – Vice President; Molly Bauman, Peebles – Secretary; Kylee Applegate, North Adams – Treasurer; Kelsea Hamilton, West Union – Reporter; and Josie McDowell and Erin Newman, both of North Adams will serve as additional representatives to the Executive Committee.

The 32-member Board is responsible for planning and implementing the annual Adams County Junior Fair shows and activities, held in conjunction with the Adams County Fair. The 2016 fair dates are July 10-16. The Board will be reviewing suggestions from the 2015 at its November meeting. Prior to that meeting, the Executive Committee will meet to develop a draft budget and appoint members to various Junior Fair subcommittees.
