WU Football Homecoming is Friday

On Friday, Oct. 9, the West Union Dragons varsity football team will host the Green Bobcats at Freedom Field in a 7:30 p.m. kickoff and it will be Homecoming Night in West Union. The Homecoming ceremony will take place at halftime of the game with the crowning of the High School King and Queen and their Court, the Junior High Prince and Princess,the Elementary Duke and Duchess, and the Little Prince and Princess.

The West Union football program invites all alumni including former football players, coaches, and cheerleaders to support the current Dragons. Wear the green, gold, and black, and cheer West Union to victory. There will also be a dance for high school and junior high students following the game.

The gridiron action continues on Saturday beginning with the fourth annual People’s Defender Adams County Bowl, pitting the junior high squads of West Union and Manchester in a battle for the Defender trophy. The Dragons took the hardware last season and the Hounds will be out to take back the trophy for 2015.

Following the Defender Bowl, the action continues at 2 p.m. with the third/fourth grade contest between West Union and Manchester and then at 3:30 p.m. the fifth/sixth grade tilt between the Hounds and Dragons.
