Local artists have painted statues of dogs, cats, a horse, a pig, and even a cow for an upcoming Humane Society of Adams County event to help homeless shelter pets.

The statues were acquired through Holsinger Monument of West Union, which gave a discount on their price to help the shelter. The statues will be among many delightful items being auctioned off at “Howl-O-Ween,” the major fundraiser for the Humane Society. The event will be held Saturday, Octo. 24, at the GE Park facility in Peebles. Tickets are $20 and include dinner by the Scioto Ribber.

The statues are being displayed at the Peebles and West Union public libraries and other businesses around Adams County until the Howl-O-Ween event.

For more information about how you can help the animal shelter, or to reserve your tickets for the October dinner, please call 937-544-8585 or visit www.adamscountyanimals.org.
