August is Child Support Awareness Month

The Adams County Commissioners met with representatives from the Adams County Department of Jobs and Family Services and the Adams County Prosecutor’s Office on Aug. 10 to declare the month of August Child Support Awareness Month.

“Ohio recognizes that the support of both parents is essential to a child’s overall success and the establishment of a solid foundation for Adams County families,” the proclamation said. “The Ohio child support system program provides a broad range of services to parents, caretakers and children, and acknowledges that strong partnerships are essential to strengthening families and promoting a child’s well being.”

The proclamation further stated, “We encourage all citizens in Adams County to join us in acknowledging and supporting the work of the many local organizations that help fulfill their responsibilities to their children and we hearby designate the month of August as ‘Child Support Awareness Month’ in Adams County and order this proclamation to be spread upon the pages of the Commissioners’ Journal.”

The Commissioners were joined by Susan Hopkins and Sue Fulton from the Adams County Department of Jobs and Family Services along with Kenneth Armstrong and Barbara Moore from the Adams County Prosecutor’s Office.
