Manchester Community Garden is growing

Four new beds have been added this spring to the Community Garden in Manchester.

The Manchester Community Garden is growing. Besides the members growing great vegetables, the garden has also grown in size. Four new beds were added this spring for a total of twenty-two raised beds. One of our four by 16 ft. beds has been planted by the garden members and all the produce from it will be donated to the senior citizens who live at Fawnhaven Apartments. All other beds this year have been rented by members of the community to grow their own food.

Our next meeting will be on Saturday, July 11, at 10 a.m., at the Community Garden. Robin Stephenson, from Karma Points, will be there to discuss pests and diseases. If you have experienced mildew, mold and yellow leaves on your plants because of all this rain then come and listen to Robin tell how to treat and prevent these diseases. Everyone is welcome.

If you have any questions, please contact Tracy Lopez (garden coordinator) at 549-1995.
