Cornhole Tournament will return to fair

West Union’s J.J. Kramer competes in the 2014 People’s Defender Cornhole Tournament, which this year will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 17.

Back again for another year as a staple at the Adams County Fair will be the annual “People’s Defender Cornhole Tournament.” This year’s tournament, which is always a hit for young people from ages 7-15, will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 17 in a different site than in past years. This year’s tourney will be held in the Shade Tree Park section of the fair grounds.

As it has been done in the past, the tournaments will be divided into two age classes, 7-11 and 12-15, and will be played in a double elimination format. First, second, and third prizes will be awarded in both age classes. The cost to enter the competition is $5 per player.

To enter this year’s tournament, look for the entry form published in The People’s Defender. Those forms can then be dropped off at any time during business hours at the paper’s new offices at 25 Rice Drive in West Union. Registration will also be available 30 minutes prior to the tournament in Shade Tree Park.
